Five In FiveReflecting upon my art school days recently, a thought popped into my head...a rarity. I was thinking back to how we were instructed in Life Drawing 101 to do gesture drawings within a short period of time. Basically, it is a method of training hands to quickly sketch what the brain has already seen. Staying "focused" means sustained concentration. Once you start drawing you can't stop because there's only a minute or two to finish!With that practice in mind I figured it would be a good exercise for photography as well. Too often I hear people say they have "writer's block" when it comes to finding something to photograph. So five photographs in five minutes seemed to me to be a good motivational exercise for one to do when down in the creativity dumps. Because of the short time frame it sharpens the mind's eye to produce, on deadline, something…anything. All in an effort to get the creative adrenaline pumping again.Its not about creating the next Mona Lisa…its about producing

Digital/ Traditional Art Features/News Update Before i start showcasing some of the amazing art i seem to be coming across in midst of my search for stock images. I have a bit of news for my friends and watchers, i think i am on the verge of returning to my digital paintings again, i haven't done any of these for quite some time. What has brought this on well first of all i belong to a community such as this place where there are so many different artists and photographers all unique and gifted at what they create. And secondly i feel that at last i can now take my time with the life i have now a key element to this is about learning and trying out different things.You may recall a journal i wrote a while back giving everyone a small insight in how did i get to where i am now, and in the last day or so i did a rather big feature where i trawled through probably hundreds of images covering subjects such as Artisan Crafts, Traditional and Digital Art,Mixed Media Fine Art, Design and so on, i think the more you get to know me
